Wake Up Europe returns to Brussels: debating Europe at Sea

At Auditoire 5, Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles (43, Boulevard du Jardin botanique, 1000 - Bruxelles) on 23 Apr 2018 at 18:00

The Institutes for European Studies at Université Saint-Louis- Bruxelles and at Université catholique de Louvain are very pleased to invite you to the screening of the documentary Europe at Sea (2017), followed by a panel discussion with Annalisa Piras.

“Directed by award-winning filmmaker Annalisa Piras, this documentary follows Federica Mogherini, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, at a pivotal moment in time, when Europe is confronted by a changing geopolitical landscape and pressing migration and security challenges. With exclusive access to EU military and civilian missions in the southern Mediterranean Sea and Niger, the film offers a unique insight into the decision-making that shaped Europe’s response to a mounting, multi-faceted crisis.”

Panelists:

Annalisa Piras, director of the film

Jean-Louis De Brouwer: director “Europe, Eastern Neighbourhood and Middle East”, European Commission’s Directorate-general for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO)

Barbara Holzer-Bodson: delegate at the Permanent Representation of Austria to the EU

Quentin Dickinson: director “European Affairs”, Radio France
